Sashiko 103 :: Kugurisashi (Stitch & Weave)
- In stock, ready to ship
- Inventory on the way
Kuguri-sashi is a style of Sashiko stitching that creates beautifully intricate patterns by stitching a series of base stitches that you then weave through on the surface of your fabric. In this class you will learn the basics of Kugurisashi and we will explore moving beyond printed samplers to draft your own kugurisashi patterns.
Workshop Only vs. Workshop + Kit: You have the option to register for the Workshop Only & provide your own materials, or you can purchase a complete class kit with all the materials that will be used throughout the class.
The Class Kit Includes:
- Kuguri-sashi Coaster Kit that includes 5 coasters, thread & needles (not currently available for individual sale, but you are welcome to use your own kuguri-sashi pre-printed sampler)
- Japanese Dot Grid Fabric (exclusive to the kit, but you can also use a 5mm Dot Grid Sampler)
- Frixion Fineliner Pen
- 2 skeins of Sashiko thread
Level : Previous Sashiko experience is helpful. We will not be going over the basics of Sashiko stitching in this class and some prep stitching prior to class is needed.
