I wish that you will carry the individual bobbins/skein for Soie de Paris with more color variations. Since this filament silk replaces its sister Soie d’Alger, I’d like to have different shades for needle painting.
Besides, Soie de Ovale color options are great to highlight finishing or polishing embellishments. I plan to use it for fine details over the finished needlepointing where radiant hues or gap coverage are required. It blends better due its Ovale nature - flatter surface than when Soie d’Alger is used, especially for fixing colors and direction of threads.
I honestly recommend the store and Soie de Paris. If you are new to needle painting, you may skip Soie de Ovale for now.
Ovale may not go well side by side with d’Alger for main surface embroidery. Although both are silk filaments with the highest Lustre, Ovale is flat and the latter is twisted thread (round structure). Basic space science tells ‘NOT TO’: flat means 2-Dimension (D) and round is 3-D. If your intention is not a raised embroidery, the embroidered surface will appear as up-down randomly with those two together in the same part of design.
