Not my favorite

You have to have the needle just right or else it makes a horrible scratching sound and the needle stays put. I still use this from time to time but bought some pliers instead

This works really well. I was worried it would be too large to wear while sewing but it tucks up nicely next to my knuckle while I place the stitches and then is right there when I need it. The combination of push/pull really reduces hand strain.

Needle puller

This is handy when I am working with thicker fabric. I used it a lot when stitching on a canvas bag.

Helps pull needle...

As I'm getting older, any help that I can get to pull needles through with my thimble fingers is amazing. I totally recommend this product.

How did I cross stitch without this?

Someone I follow on Instagram recommended this ages ago, and so I got one to use for finishing off thread when I cross stitch. I don't use knots, and when I get to the end of the working strand, I slide it under a few stitches on the back and pull it through to secure it. The trouble is, I am a pretty tight stitcher, so it can be a bear to pull through, and before I got this, I had very sore fingertips after working for extended periods. This little tool makes it much easier, and I no longer end up with sore fingers.

I haven't yet tried it, but I also imagine this tool would be indispensable for hand sewing thicker fabric, for example when decorating or mending denim.

Ready, set, stitch!
