YLI Silk #100 Thread is wonderful for hand applique - it's so fine, it just disappears into the fabric. This 100% Silk filament thread makes you look like an even better appliquer than you already are! The ideal thread for hand applique, basting and fine heirloom sewing. Works well with Size 12 Applique Needles or Size 10 Milliner Needles.  You will need a filament style needle threader for this ultra-thin thread.

Perfect for applique

This thread is a pleasure to work with and the stitches are nearly invisible in my applique. Plus it shipped crazy fast!

Lovely appliqué thread

I bought this thread on the advice of a YouTube video on back basting needle turn appliqué. It is a lovely fine strong thread. I’m still learning but I can see how with practice my stitches will be virtually invisible despite using neutral thread instead of matching colors.
The only thing you have to watch for is, due to the thread being so fine and smooth, it can slip easily out of the eye of the needle easily. I’ve learned to watch for that as my thread gets short.
